‘Yea, I think it meet, as long as I am in this tabernacle, to stir you up by putting
[you] in remembrance;
Knowing that shortly I must put off [this] my tabernacle, even as our Lord Jesus
Christ hath shewed me.
Moreover I will endeavour that ye may be able after my decease to have these things
always in remembrance.’
With the Scriptures that we have this month you can see how Jesus is “Our Emmanuel”--
that is, “God with Us” since the first moment of our conversion!
But notice what Matthew tells us in Chapter 1:23
‘Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall
call his name Emmanuel’, which being interpreted is, ‘God with us.’
Not only that, we ourselves become a Tabernacle of God for it is our God who resides
in our hearts!
And so, at this time, when we keep the Feast of Tabernacles according to the commandment
of our Lord Jesus Christ, we are in fact in unity with Our Heavenly Father and Our
Lord Jesus Christ through the power of God’s holy spirit.
‘Therefore, the LORD Himself shall give you a sign. Behold, the virgin shall conceive
and bring forth a son, and they shall call His name Immanuel.’
The Feast of Tabernacles pictures the very kingdom of God on this earth and Jesus
will be the King of that kingdom and when that takes place He will rightly “Tabernacle”
with all men and women and indeed all children, who then, will have the opportunity
to have a spiritual tabernacle with God and to become spiritual sons and daughters
in the heavenly Kingdom for all time!
