Article 26

One of the purposes of this article is for us to try to better understand our enemy. As any commander in the field of battle will tell you, if a person knows their enemy then they will have a much better chance of ultimately defeating that enemy.

Now I`m not suggesting for one moment that we, as mere flesh and blood human beings, could ever destroy our and the world`s greatest enemy Satan, literally, but we can `kill him off ` as regards allowing his evil powers to influence our behaviour in order to disobey the righteous laws of our God and Creator Jesus Christ. Satan has been trying his utmost to utterly destroy the whole of humankind ever since our parents of old, Adam and Eve, first walked this earth. Satan not only wants to destroy all of humankind (and this includes his human followers!) but also the very earth upon which we live, and his destruction would not end there, for if it were at all possible he would destroy all the good and beautiful things that the Lord God has created including the structure of the whole universe and then even the Lord God Himself. Yes, Satan is powerful, and he knows it, but there is one more thing that he knows now which he never knew or believed to be the case before he tried to overthrow God`s throne by leading a rebellion against it, the Lord God is more powerful than he is, much more powerful!

Satan`s hatred and desire for the rampant and indiscriminate destruction of all that the Lord God has created may well be easy enough to understand given the order of events that has put him in his present position (his failed rebellion against God to name but one) but one thing further that we should be aware of is the fact that the Lord God is allowing Satan the leeway to destroy some things now and reserving some other things to be allowed to be destroyed later. Then, when things have been accomplished according to the Lord`s `pleasure`, Satan will be captured and bound for a thousand years, then released for `a while`, and then when his time has come, he is to be utterly burned up and destroyed by the Lord God Himself.

At present, the great weapon that Satan so freely and successfully wields against flesh and blood mankind is that of temptation, getting us humans to willingly disobey the Lord`s expressed commandments and thereby and therefore commit sin, in other words, to get us to do his will instead of our Lord God`s will, this, at the present time, is Satan`s greatest on-going victory over the vast majority of mankind. It would also appear to be a victory over the Lord God`s will as well, but even this apparent `victory` has been allowed at the Lord`s discretion and is therefore not a victory over His will at all, but rather a part of it! This may be hard for the average `man on the street` to accept and to understand but it must be remembered that we mere humans cannot even begin to fully appreciate what manner of character refining, sifting and sorting all of this giving in to or resisting of sin and temptation is producing amongst us as individuals. Let`s read from  Isaiah 55: 6-8. `Seek you the Lord while He may yet be found, call upon Him whilst He is still near at hand. Let the wicked forsake his way and the unrighteous man his thoughts, and let him return to the Lord, and He shall have mercy upon him, for He will abundantly pardon. For My thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways My ways, says the Lord`.   Let`s couple that scripture with  Ezekiel 39: 24. `According to their uncleanness and according to their transgressions have I dealt with them, and I have hidden My face from them`.  Let`s not forget that our Almighty God will have mercy on any man or woman whomsoever He shall choose to have mercy on, yes even on those who we may feel are far beyond hope or salvation, (for who are we to judge another?) and we can read of this fact in  Exodus 33: 19. `And the Lord said (to Moses) `I will make all My goodness pass before you, and I will proclaim the Name of the Lord before you, and I will be gracious to whom I will be gracious, and I will show mercy on whom I will show mercy`.  So, any `victory` that Satan thinks that he has achieved over the Lord God is in fact no victory at all. But wait a minute, hasn`t the Lord given away all of His `battle plans` by allowing not only the people of this world but also Satan and his demons access to the holy scriptures? Isn`t everything about what is going to happen to Satan and his armies of demons outlined within their pages? Can`t Satan read? Well of course Satan can read, not only that but he probably knows the scriptures better than any human being, after all, he`s one of the leading players within their pages and he`s had plenty of time to study them. Remember, it was Satan who even had the audacity to quote (and deliberately mis-quote) scripture to Jesus Christ when he tried to coerce Him into temptation whilst in the wilderness, let`s read of that in  Matthew 4: 5-7. `Then Satan took Him (Jesus, away from the wilderness) up to the holy city, and positioned Him on the highest part of the temple, and said to Him, If You really are the Son of God, throw yourself down to the ground, for it is written (within the scriptures) He shall give His angels a duty of care concerning You, and therefore by their hands shall they save you and bare you up lest at any time You should injure Yourself. But Jesus answered him and said, It is further written, You shall not tempt the Lord your God. (a direct reference by Jesus to Himself!)  So, Satan knows of the Lord God`s intentions towards him, even how and where He is going to utterly destroy him, well so what? so what? It makes no difference whatsoever to the Lord`s `battle plans`, the Lord, by revealing to Satan just what is going to happen to him is in fact demonstrating His supreme power over Satan by saying to Satan something along the lines of; `Well now you know, so what are you going to do about it? try and stop ME, if you can! Satan`s fate was probably sealed before any of the scriptures were made known to anybody else including the angels and probably even before most of the scriptures were ever written. These things were privy only to God the Father and God the Son. When the time was right then these things were made known, but, and here`s the surprise, they were made known to mankind even before the angels got to know of them! There is a scripture that gives us an insight into that fact, let`s read  1 Peter 1: 10-12. `Of which salvation the prophets have asked about and searched diligently for, who prophesied of the grace that should come to you. Searching what, or what manner of time the spirit of Christ that was in them did signify, when it testified beforehand the sufferings of the Christ, and of the glory that would follow. To whom it was revealed, that not to themselves but to us, they did minister the things, which are now reported to you by them that have preached the gospel to you by way of the holy spirit sent down from heaven; things which the angels desire to have knowledge of `.   Only the Lord God knows when Satan`s fate was actually sealed, if we believe that the Lord is working to a plan, and nothing, but nothing can ever alter that plan, then the fate of the arch angel Lucifer, who later became known as Satan, may well have been determined even before he was created and known as Lucifer. Fair? Who are we to judge? I can only quote this scripture, Romans 9: 20-23. `But no, O man, who are you that you think that you are worthy to argue against God? Shall the thing that is created say to Him that created it, why have You made me this way? Has not the potter power over the clay, and out of the same lump of it make one honourable vessel and a dishonourable vessel? What if God, wanting to show His wrath and make known His power, endured with much longsuffering the vessels of wrath fitted for destruction so that He might make known the riches of His glory on the vessels of mercy, which He had afore prepared for glory?`  But having quoted that scripture, I can say that it does not necessarily apply to Satan,  because Satan, or Lucifer as he was known, was given every chance in life, he was one of the very elite few, he was created into a `wealthy` and powerful `family` of select angelic beings, but he threw all of this honoured position back in the Lord`s face, it just wasn`t enough for him, he wanted more, much more! Let`s read from the book of  Ezekiel 28: 13-15. `You (Satan) have been in Eden, the garden of God, every precious stone was your covering, the ruby, the topaz and the diamond, the beryl the onyx and the jasper, the sapphire the emerald and the carbuncle and gold; the workmanship of your tabrets and of your pipes was prepared in you in the day that you were created. You are the anointed cherub that covers, and I have set you so; you were upon the holy mountain of God; you have walked up and down in the midst of the stones of fire. You were perfect in your ways from the day that you were created, until iniquity was found to be within you`.

Now, we can liken Satan to a prisoner on `death row`, he is awaiting his execution, he has already been `tried` and found guilty, but for the moment he is still at liberty in order to fulfil the usefulness which the Lord still has for him. Let`s continue with another verse from Ezekiel,  Ezekiel 28: 16. `By the multitude of your (Satan) merchandise they have filled the midst of you with violence, and you have sinned, therefore I will cast you as profane out of the mountain of God, and I will destroy you, O covering cherub, from the midst of the stones of fire`. Note, `I will destroy you`, not, `I have destroyed you`, even up unto this day, Satan still awaits his execution at the hands of Almighty God. And it is this knowledge of his impending doom and the waiting for it that will very soon drive him to insane levels of demented destruction, but for the moment he appears to be almost in a state of self-denial, somehow not believing in his own mortality, the truth of which was finally driven home to him by the death of our God Creator, in the shape and form of Jesus Christ. (If very God can die, then so can Satan!) But unlike the Lord Jesus, there will be no resurrection for Satan! We all know that the body can be destroyed but more importantly, so can the soul!  Let`s read  Ezekiel 18: 4. `Behold, all souls are Mine, as the soul of the father, so also the soul of the son is Mine: the soul that sins, it shall die`.  As previously stated, Satan is as it where, on death row, he has been thrown out of heaven and confined to this earth, let`s read  Luke 10: 18. `And He (Jesus) said to them, I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven`.  and also  1Peter 5: 8. `Be sober, be vigilant, because your enemy Satan, like a roaring lion paces around seeking whom he may devour`. Yes, this world has become his prison, he cannot move beyond it anymore unless summoned to do so by the Lord God, let`s read from the book of  Job 1: 6-7. `Now there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the Lord, and Satan also came with them. And the Lord said to Satan, Where have you come from? And Satan answered the Lord and said, From going to and fro` on the earth and from walking up and down in it`. So let`s take this analogy of Satan being a prisoner on death row to its` next logical step. The one thing that any prisoner on death row might set as a priority for themselves when they realise that escape is impossible is for them to try their best to delay the coming day of their execution. As we may know, this action once it has been started, can drag on for years, even for tens of years, the prisoner through his or her attorney, submitting appeal after appeal. This is the legal way of prolonging their life, but if this is seen to be failing or has failed them then desperation sets in, new ways of survival are desparately sought for. What about instigating a prison uprising? overpowering the guards and taking hostages and attaining `free rein` of the place and being able to indulge themselves by having their demands met by threatening the lives of their hostages. But ultimately the realisation sets in that this situation cannot be sustained, they come to the conclusion that they can either make a break for it, give in or `go down in a blaze of glory` mercilessly killing all who get in their way in the knowledge that they will probably die doing this, but hey, so what? there is now nothing to lose, better a quick death by bullet when they themselves decide to end it all rather than let the authorities have their day of `triumphant` vindication and showy execution. Well, it should come as no great surprise that this is what Satan might be trying to do right now. He knows that he is at the point where he has nothing to lose, all `appeals and submissions` (figuratively speaking) have been rejected and the death sentence is to be carried out, the exact time of which is at the Lord God`s discretion. Satan knows this, he also knows that by studying the coming and going of prophesied events roughly where he is within those events and of how much time he has left, but he cannot be certain, because in any one year the Lord might allow the world to come to the very edge of what would appear to be the certain beginning of `Armageddon`, and then suddenly, a reprieve for the world, the Lord calls for a halt, and prophecy as regards the `end of the world` has to be re-evaluated and the `prophetic clock` re-started all over again.  The Lord is in control! Let`s read  Matthew 24: 4-7. `And Jesus answered and said to them, Take heed so that no man deceives you. For many shall come in My name and profess that I am indeed the Christ, (false prophets and clergy operating out of false `christian` churches) and shall deceive many. And you will hear of wars and rumours of wars, but do not be concerned, for all of these things must come to pass, but even so the end is not yet.  verse 27. `For as the daybreak is clearly seen appearing from the east, and it shines right over to the west, so also will the coming of the Son of man appear`. Many wars, many scares, and still no `Armageddon`, but one day the second coming of Christ will happen, suddenly, Matthew 24: 42. `Watch therefore, because you do not know what hour your Lord will come`.  If we do not know what hour the Lord our God will come, then we can rest assured that Satan does not know either, the precise date cannot be worked out by studying the scriptures, remember, even Jesus Christ did not know the date of the `end time` when He spoke these words which were recorded in the book of  Mark 13: 26. and 30-33. `And then shall they see the Son of man coming in the clouds, with great power and glory. Truly I say to you that this generation shall not pass until all of these things be done. Heaven and earth shall pass away : but My words shall not pass away. but of that day and of that hour knows no man, no, not the angels which are in heaven, neither the Son, but only the Father knows`.  But this does not prevent Satan from trying to promote and prolong events, or delay and/or prevent events from taking place in order to try and put further away the day of his coming demise. Perhaps by acting in the way that he is acting, (not that he needs any reason to act the way that he does) by  creating chaos, wars, murder, lawlessness, lies, misery etc., he thinks that all of this is ruining or at the very least disrupting the plans that the Lord God has made for this earth, and as a consequence this evil behaviour and resulting chaos, lengthens the allotted time span for these events to occur within. But unbeknown to Satan, the Lord has already factored in Satan`s `disruption policy`, the Lord had already written it down who knows how many thousands of years before, and has it ready to show to Satan at any given time, perhaps saying to him something like, `I knew you were going to do that, see, it`s already been written down and I`ve made allowances for it`.

Maybe the Lord has already demonstrated to Satan that he cannot win, which would explain why he continues to behave in the way that he does, unwillingly, even unwittingly fulfilling prophecy after prophecy that has been written concerning him, bringing him ever closer and closer with each vile act that he commits, to the moment of his own inevitable doom. If, and this is a very big `IF`, if there was ever any chance of reconciliation with the Lord God, then Satan well and truly lost his chance long ago, and only the Lord God knows how long ago. Satan did not even try to make amends or show any remorse by sparing God the Son, as Jesus Christ, any suffering upon the `cross`. Yes we know that Satan tried his utmost to prevent Jesus from going through with that terrible ordeal, but this act was not out of any concern, pity, mercy, love or kindness, it was because Satan knew that if  the sinless Jesus Christ went through with this torturous death, then he, Satan, would  lose the right under the wording of the old testament to unconditionally demand the destruction of every sinning human being that ever walked or was yet to walk upon this earth,  and that means every one of us!

So this being the case, Satan tried his evil utmost to try and frighten off Jesus from going through with the terrible ordeal of torture that lay before Him, and when he realized that he had failed in this, then he decided to make this ordeal as gruesome and as painful and as horrendous as possible still in the hope that the Lord, because of His agonizing suffering, would `throw in the towel`, summon His angels and call the whole thing off thus failing in His mission to save us and all who have ever lived before us and those of us yet to be born from the power of death which Satan, for the time being, still possesses.

What kind of `mind`, I wondered, would even dare to act in such a way against such an all-powerful being as the great Lord God, but not only God the Son but God the Father as well? Satan is not stupid, far from it, therefore it must have been his overwhelming conceit and arrogance and misguided self-belief that led him to rebel in the first place. He was in effect blinded by his own pride, in his own eyes he could do no wrong, to his way of thinking it was the Lord God who had got it all wrong and being in this mindset he became cruel and merciless in all that he did and continues to do. Well, the consequences for anybody being merciless can be found in the scriptures, let`s have a read of  James 2: 13. `For He shall have judgment without mercy on those that have not shown any mercy. Mercy triumphs against judgment`.  And now words from Jesus Christ in  Matthew 18: 32-35. `Then his lord after he had called him said to him, O you wicked servant, I forgave you all that you owed me because you begged me to. This being the case, should you not also have had compassion on your fellow servant even as I had pity on you? And his lord was angry and delivered him to the tormentors until he had paid back all that he owed him. So likewise shall My heavenly Father do to you, if from your hearts you do not forgive every one of your brothers their trespass against you`. But for Satan there will be no deliverance to `the tormentors`, he has progressed way beyond that stage!

And so, no matter what Satan does now, whether it be to sink even further into the depths of utter, evil depravity, causing the slow, torturous deaths of billions, or whether he `turns over a new leaf ` and becomes a model of good behaviour or he just remains quiet and does nothing at all, it will make no difference, he has demonstrated that he can never be trusted and so his fate is a forgone conclusion.

Let`s just suppose for one minute that the Lord God offered one chance of redemption to Satan and that it would be this; If Satan agreed to die by the same method and experience the same pain, agony, sheer terror and horror and grief of every individual human being that had been tortured, butchered or in some other way gruesomely murdered whilst living upon this earth, then he would be allowed a `stay of execution`, should we presume that Satan, liar, coward and bully that he is, would take the Lord up on this offer?  The Lord has the power to do this, He can let die and resurrect a person as many times as He wants and for all eternity if He wants to. This now brings me to these next scriptures, let`s read from Revelation 20: 10. `And Satan that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone where the beast and the false prophet are, and they shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever`. And now to  Revelation 14: 10-11. `The same shall drink the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of His indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels and in the presence of the Lamb. And the smoke of their torment ascends up for ever and for ever: and they have no rest day or night, who worship the beast and his image, and whosoever receives the mark of his name`.  Now without going into any great depth about what these scriptures from the book of Revelation mean, there is however one thing that I would like to draw the reader`s attention to and it is this; there is no way that God the Father, God the Son Jesus Christ (the Lamb) and all of Their angelic host will be watching for the rest of eternity the suffering of those who are burning in the lake of fire, listening to the screaming and the impassioned pleas for mercy of perhaps millions of tortured souls. For one thing, they have better things to do, and for another it isn`t going to be that way for them or indeed for those of us who will be granted eternal life, let`s read on a bit further,  Revelation 21: 1-3. `And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: because the first heaven and the first earth were no more,(they have been burned up) and there was no more sea. And I, John, saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and He will dwell with them, and they shall be His people, and God Himself shall be with them, and be their God`.

Satan also realizes just what a glorious, peaceful, fulfilled and loving future lies ahead (for those deemed to be worthy) for humankind to inherit. Yes, Satan knows all of this now because he`s also read the scriptures, he knows about the complete and utter destruction of this old world by it being burned up like the sun and of his own destruction in that burning,  2 Peter 3: 10. `The day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night, in which the heavens will pass away with a great noise, and the elements will melt because of the fervent heat: both the earth and the works that are within it shall be burned up`. Satan knows of the creation somewhere of a brand new heaven and a brand new earth which haven`t experienced any evil or bloodshed and never will! , because he won`t be around to cause any!! Yes, he knows all of this, and so what should we suppose his mindset is now towards the Lord God`s children, we, who he already looked upon as far back as our ancestors Adam and Eve as filthy, insignificant, weak, fleshly little upstarts who have no right whatsoever in his eyes to even have any form of existence at all? Is he jealous? Yes, is he all but completely insane with rage? Yes, but now there is also something else which must still be a new experience for him, and that something else is impotence, because now he knows that there is nothing whatsoever that he can do about any of it without fulfilling the parts of the scriptures that concern him!   I know that we do not  share the power that Satan has, but there is one thing that we do share now, and that is the knowledge and the recognition that all created, living things have, (although in Satan`s case he is probably still in a state of denial, but he knows it anyway) and that is the awareness and the `fear` of a greater, ruling , presence. We all have the inbuilt awareness of a supreme authority (although this awareness is oftentimes kept suppressed) and it is one that must be obeyed by an individual if that individual wants any part in the glorious, eternal future that is available for themselves to obtain through the keeping of the Lord God`s laws which have been made clear to us in the shape and form of the ten commandments. We can willingly obey God`s commandments in this life with great rewards for doing so in the next life, or we can disobey the Lord`s commandments in this life and perhaps be given another chance to obey them in the next life but with much lesser reward. Any who still refuse to obey the commandments of the Lord in the second life will be destroyed along with Satan and his demons.

Satan can only see any `victory` for himself over the Lord God if it takes the shape and form of the eternal destruction of as many of humankind as he can possibly achieve, particularly if he thinks that he has motivated the `hand` of the Lord God to do that destroying Himself, but anyway, if Satan were to be destroyed as one of the the first of the groups (demons etc.) of those condemned to eternal death, where would his satisfaction be? because he wouldn`t be around to see the destruction of anybody else.  But even so this does not and has not prevented Satan from bringing about the destruction by a miserable and as painful a death as possible millions of humankind who have not asked for at all, or who have not asked for in the correct way, and so have not acquired the protection of the Lord God. The act of murderous and wanton destruction is what now drives Satan, and he carries it out with vile and unrelenting hatred. He knows he is doomed to be destroyed and he is desperately trying to take as many of the Lord God`s created beings along with him by either seducing and enticing them to do his evil will thereby trying to ensure their eternal destruction or by settling for second best and making life as miserable and as hellish as possible for as many of humankind as he can in the hope that the vast majority of them will blame the Lord God for their misery and as a consequence turn against Him and curse and blaspheme Him. And blame the Lord God is what the majority of people do anyway when their lives take a turn for the worse, never mind all of the wickedness they have committed during their life and which the Lord has `turned a blind eye to`, yes, they blame God even when they need Him the most, let`s read from  Revelation 16: 9-11. `And men were scorched with great heat, and cursed the name of the Lord God, who has the power over (to stop) these plagues, and still they did not repent and give Him the glory. And the fifth angel poured out his vile upon the seat of the anti-christ, and his kingdom became full of darkness, and they gnawed their tongues because of the pain that they were in, and they cursed the God of heaven because of their pains and their sores, but still they did not repent of their evil deeds`. So, Satan acts the way that he does not only because he is evil to the core but also perhaps he thought at one time that all prophecy was `set in stone`,(we should not confuse prophecy with God`s plan for humankind) and so it would happen the way that it is written no matter what, and so hey, things couldn`t get any worse for himself. But could they? Can they? Well I will not comment but instead we`ll read from 1 Corinthians 13: 8. `Love never fails, but whether there be prophecies, they shall fail, whether there be languages they shall cease, whether there be knowledge it shall vanish away`.

Anyway, all events are now set in motion, some have happened according to prophecy (more than once!) and some are yet to happen. Satan is not trying to nor will he ever try to have an audience with the Lord God to seek mercy from Him, he`s far too proud and full of himself to do such a thing! Satan is not relenting, no, not one bit, he is not willing to concede one inch! Satan is also experiencing something that never bothered him when he was known as Lucifer, he never even gave it a thought because then it had no power over him but now it has become for him, (just like it has for us mere flesh and blood humans) his second worse enemy, and what could this thing possibly be? Well it is  time! , and he knows that he is running out of it. His once given state of immortality is to be withdrawn and when his time runs out he will die!  Yes, Satan, he who has the power of death will succumb to it himself and so death will be made to swallow up he who has (had) the power of death, and then the Lord will `finish the job` by doing away with death altogether.  Isaiah 25: 8. `He (the Lord God) will swallow up death in victory, and the Lord God will wipe away the tears from off all faces, and the rebuke of His people shall He take away from off all of the earth, for the Lord has spoken it`.  Revelation 21: 4.  `And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes: and there shall be no more death, (no more Satan!) nor sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain, for the former things are passed away`.

The question must now be asked; `How can an `immortal` spirit being such as Satan, be destroyed?` Well this next scripture should give us a clue, (see also the article, `Can Satan Be Destroyed?) let`s have a read of some verses including and between Isaiah 14: 4-20. `You shall take up this proverb against the king of Babylon (Satan) The Lord has broken the staff of the wicked and the sceptre of the rulers. Yes the fir trees rejoice at you (Satan) and also the cedars of  Lebanon, saying, Since you are laid down, no lumberjack has come up against us. Hell (the grave) from beneath is moved for you, to meet you at your coming, it stirs up the dead for you, including all the leaders of the earth; it has raised up from their thrones, all the kings of the nations. All they that speak and say to you, Are you also become as weak as we are? are you now become like us? Your pomp is brought down to the grave along with the sound of your lutes, the worm is spread under you and the worms also cover you. How you have fallen from heaven O Lucifer, son of the morning! how you are cut down to the ground, you who weakened the nations. You shall be brought down to the grave, to the sides of the pit. They that see you shall look narrowly upon you and consider you, saying, Is this the man that did make the earth to tremble and who made kingdoms to shake? That made the world as a wilderness and destroyed its` cities? and who did not open the house of his prisoners? All the kings of the nations, yes all of them, lie in glory, everyone in their own tomb. But you are cast out of your grave like an abominable branch, and as the (filthy, bloodstained) clothing of those who have been slain, thrust through with a sword, that go down to the stones of the pit; as a carcase trodden under feet`.  It is because of the verse of this scripture that states `Is this the man that did make the earth to tremble. . .`  that we can begin to understand just how the Lord God is going to destroy Satan, not when he is still a spirit being, but when Satan has been transformed into a mere flesh and blood man! Yes that`s right, just as the Lord God himself was transformed from the mighty spirit being that He is, into feeble flesh and blood to live His life upon this earth as Jesus Christ, so will Satan experience just what it is like to be re-created as mere human flesh and blood, powerless and vulnerable, just before his eternal destruction. We can find more evidence for this in the book of  Ezekiel 28: 2. and 8-10. `Son of man, say to the prince of Tyrus (Satan) Thus says the Lord God, Because you are full of self pride, and you have said, I am a God, I sit in the seat of God, in the midst of the seas (heaven, see Genesis 1: 6-8) and yet you are a man and not God, even though you set your heart to be God. They (strangers) shall bring you down to the pit, and you shall die the death of them that are slain in the midst of the seas. Will you yet say to him that slays you, I am God? but you shall be a man , and not a God, in the hands of him that slays you. You shall die the death of the ungodly by the hand of strangers: for I have spoken it, says the Lord God`.  And just to underline and to prove the fact that the `king of Tyrus` is in fact Satan, let`s read an abridged version of some verses from  Ezekiel 28: 12-15. `Son of man, take up a lamentation upon the king of Tyrus, and say to him, Thus says the Lord God, You seal up the sum, full of wisdom and perfect in beauty. You have been in Eden, the garden of God. You are the anointed cherub that covers. You were perfect in your ways from the day that you were created, until iniquity was discovered in you`.  And now for the words that must have driven home hard and straight right into to the `heart` of Satan,  Ezekiel 28: 19. `All they that know you (Satan) amongst the people, shall be astonished at you, you shall be a terror, AND NEVER SHALL YOU BE ANY MORE`.

Satan is trying to destroy this world and all who live upon it for all eternity, and he is doing this most successfully by deception. He deceives those who think that they are Christians and belong to a Christian church and as such have the protection and the blessings in this life of our Lord God, but they are in fact ALL following the leaders of a great Satanic, Babylonian priesthood and a false Christian church which has its` headquarters in Rome. Satan is also deceiving those people who think that they have the choice of being able to live forever by following him along a wide, easy to find and get along road into an eternal life of wickedness, `fun` and debauchery rather than follow the `narrow path` of the true Christian into an eternal life of love, peace and contentment.  Make no mistake, Satan is out to destroy even those who are foolish enough to follow him and show him allegiance, and the irony of this is that these are the very ones who will almost certainly be burned up,  forever, in the `lake of fire`! As Satan tries his utmost to delay and slow down the inevitable running out of prophetic time, he is in fact, (by doing the things that he does and will continue to do) helping to bring it to an end, he cannot win. Nobody can outwit the Lord God Almighty!  As I stated earlier in this article, even if Satan were to just sit back, behave himself and do nothing at all from now on, (which would be for him as it is for us to try to resist scratching an itchy nose or eye) we would discover that even by his doing nothing it would already have been pre-ordained as part of the Lord God`s plan, even though Satan thinks that he is doing what he wants to do, unfettered and unrestrained because of his imagined power over the Lord God, he is not! The Lord is in control, he let`s Satan go just so far and then He stops him, and we can read of His restraining `hand` in this next piece of scripture spoken by Jesus Christ, Matthew 24: 21-22. `For then there shall be great tribulation such as has not been seen even from the beginning of the world up unto this time, no, and neither will there be again. And except that those days should be shortened, there would be no flesh left alive, but for the sake of those who have been chosen, (to survive them) those days shall be shortened`.

We should, if we rightly could, (because there is so much terrible suffering yet to be endured by the people of this world) be thankful of the fact that these latter days in which we find ourselves living are to be Satan`s  `swan song`. For the moment he is still the `god` or prince of this earth, and the words of these next two scriptures spoken by Jesus Christ, tell us of this fact, (even though he has, since these words were spoken been `dethroned` by Jesus Christ who will take up and establish His own kingdom very shortly)  let`s have a read of  John 12: 31. `Now is the judgment of this world, now shall the prince of this world be cast out`.  and  John 14: 30. `Hereafter I will not talk much with you, because the prince of this world comes, and has nothing in Me`.  Even as I write, the world is on the very brink of Satan`s last big `push` which will  result in the battle of Armageddon, for if the apostle Paul wrote that `the time` was nearly spent when he (Paul) walked this earth, we must ask ourselves how much of that short time is still left for us, now?!  Romans 13: 11-12. `And that, knowing the time, that is is now high time that we woke out of sleep; for now is our salvation nearer than we thought. The night is almost gone, the day is at hand: let us therefore cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armour of light`.  Satan no longer has the safe feeling of being immortal, sure he is not yet subject to death, but he will be, he cannot yet be destroyed by `normal` means, although God can of course destroy him and any other spirit being as and when He wants to, let`s read  Timothy 6: 15-16. `Which in His times He shall show, who is the blessed and only Ruler, the King of kings, and Lord of lords. Who alone has immortality, dwelling in the light to which no man can approach, whom no man has seen or who can see, to whom be honour and power everlasting, Amen`.  This being the case, immortality must be looked on for the time being as a `state of grace`, it can be taken away which is why when the Lord God makes all living beings truly immortal, when death is finally done away with, He wants to make sure that all who are granted true life eternal will not be of a treacherous or double minded nature.

During these latter days in which we now live, we true Christians should not worry unduly, the Lord is in control. I`ll end this article with these comforting words spoken by Jesus after His resurrection,  Matthew 28: 18-20. And Jesus came to them and spoke saying, All power is given to Me in heaven and in earth. Go you therefore and tell all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and with the holy spirit. Teaching them to observe all things as I have commanded you, and remember, I am with you always, even right up to the end of the world. Amen`. With a promise like that we should never fear to do that which we know that we should do to overcome the evil ways of Satan as he rampages around in his last, desperate years.
